This week sees Raise the Macallan visit NYC at the Altman Building. I’m attending a session tonight. I’ll be sure and report back!
In upstate NY? Check out the Ghost Tours at the Brae Loch Inn! The Brae Loch Inn is a warm, inviting Scottish Inn nestled beside picturesque Cazenovia Lake. Perhaps the Inn is too inviting, as guests have reported a ghostly girl in a long blue dress offering to show them to their room. And many more tales, such as a man and woman walking through closets, have also been told. Be sure and say hello to Val and James!
Heading north to Maine, join Claddagh Mhor Pipe Band for a Balvenie whisky tasting at the Maine Irish Heritage Center. CLICK HERE for tickets
In Chicago? Don’t miss Dave Arcari rocking out at Save More Lounge.
Get to Brooklyn, NY for the Iona Scottish Session Monday at 8:30pm. Iona is the only Scottish focused traditional music session that happens regularly in Brooklyn, NY (every Monday night – 180 Grand Street – from 8.30pm til late). Drawing heavily from the pipes and fiddle repertoire of Scotland, Shetland and the Hebrides, Cape Breton Island and Donegal, we play a great variety of traditional and modern tunes.
If you aren’t too partied out from Halloween, get to the 19th Annual WhiskyFest in NYC! WhiskyFest™, the longest-running and best-attended whisky festival in the U.S., offers you the opportunity to taste from a selection of more than 350 whiskies from around the world. Do you want to learn more about whisky? Attend free seminars conducted by whisky experts. And be sure to take some time to enjoy the never-ending gourmet buffet.
