I feel like I’ve been in a whirlwind for weeks now. On top of the day job, the events are never-ending!
Over Labor Day weekend, I met up with Coreyanne at Capital District, did a little winery hopping on Sunday, then headed to the US Open to catch Andy Murray on Monday.
This past weekend I met up with my cousin from California and saw the musical, “Beautiful”. It was incredible. After the show I headed over to Connolly’s to begin the NYPD Emerald Society’s weekend of events to commemorate the 15th Anniversary of 9/11.
Parade, memorial, then out afterward on Friday, the concert + after-party on Saturday and Sunday? SLEEP! Although, I think I could use a few more days of sleep to feel caught up.
Down south in South Carolina, the Scottish Society of Charleston is holding their 45th Annual Highland Games on Saturday 17 September, with events surrounding all weekend long, such as Whisky Tastings and a Tartan Ball/Sponsors Reception.
The Fresno Highland Gathering in California takes place on Saturday, as well. This event includes Scottish heavy athletics, pipe bands, Clan tents, massed bands, Scottish dancing and food.
There are also Highland Games in Iowa, Kentucky and Virginia. Make sure to check the W&T Events Calendar for more info on all of these!
The highlight of the weekend is, of course, the New Hampshire Highland Games. Over 25,000 people are expected this weekend at one of the highlights of my year. It's a really long weekend for me, 4 days! But, I'm really excited to hang with friends and check out the headlining act this year, SKERRYVORE!!
Make sure to say hello if you're up there this weekend!
