Have many of you caught The Twilight Sad on tour with The Cure in America these past few months?
If not, FLY TO THE NEXT FEW CITIES, because this is a DON'T MISS show!
I sat 11th row center at Madison Square Garden for this incredible sold out show last Saturday the 18th. I am always nervous about seeing bands I loved so long ago, but The Cure BROUGHT IT. Robert Smith’s vocals have never sounded so elegant.
That brings me to The Twilight Sad – a band I love from Glasgow. I've listened to them (and loved them) for a few years, but I’ve never seen them live until last Saturday and I was just completely sucked in to the moment.

They are such an incredible live band – from the vocals, to stage presence, the sound. Just perfection. So good, I had to go and see them again at The Bowery Ballroom last night! They did not disappoint.
If you haven’t heard of them, PLEASE do yourself a favour and check them out on their Twitter account or website. Get on iTunes and download their albums NOW!
The TS is legit a headlining band. As a live act they're absolutely incredible. Their tunes infectious.
After grabbing a cocktail at the bar, I met up with the band's manager, 'Jawn' (haha), last night as he attempted to man the merch booth. We had been tweeting for a while now, so it was great to meet up in person.
As far as merchandise, do NOT ask them for old tour t-shirts (inside joke). Seriously though, with just over a week left in the tour, they're already sold out of their Remixes CD (someone was VERY unhappy about that....) and the rest of their stuff is almost gone, understandably. Hello, they're touring with THE CURE!
After the show, I finally had a chance to hang out with the band and meet some of their incredible fans who flew over from the UK for the shows. Even met some folks who were following the ENTIRE Cure tour around the country and a few who just happened to be in NYC from Scotland who found out about the gig.
Aside from the girl whipping my face with her ponytail during the show, the crowd was a great mix, and everyone danced and partied to celebrate TS's last night in NYC.

As a former 'new waver' from..... okay, a WHILE back.... this group reminds me of the type of music I'd have listened to in the '90s. Not because it's dated, but because it's THAT GOOD. it's reminiscent of those days, but with a really modern edge. The type of music you have a relationship with, that you breathe with, cry with, laugh with, sleep with, break up with, screw hard with.
I've had many friends from those days get hooked on them, and for good reason.

Watch the clips, buy the CD's, and go see them live. You will NOT be disappointed.
