I've been really neglectful of the blog in recent months. There has been a variety of reasons. First off, not sure if you've heard, but 2016 NY Tartan Week was pretty major. I had a lot of responsibilities with events, sponsorships and social media. Let's not forget my actual day job! I also had a personal detour that took up a lot of my time in the months leading up to Tartan Week, but I am very grateful for that experience.
I feel like with how distracted I was, especially on parade day, that I really missed out on a lot. I didn't get to see and spend time with the people I love, or enjoy the parade as much as I should have. The weather didn't help, either. It was a cold, dreich day in NYC. My hands were frozen trying to take video and Periscope the parade.
This means I'll have to make it up this spring/summer, right?!
Spring is a time of renewal and growth. And I'll be taking a little time to do just that in a few weeks!
"It is the property of things seen for the first time,
or for the first time after long,
like the flowers in spring, to reawaken in us the sharp edge of sense
and that impression of mystic strangeness which otherwise passes out of life with the coming of years;
but the sight of a loved face is what renews a man's character
from the fountain upwards."
~ Robert Louis Stevenson
Really looking forward to a trip to Scotland in a few weeks and then Highland Games season when I return. As always, I plan to incorporate road trips on most of the out of town Highland Games weekends, beginning with Rhode Island on June 11th. Can't wait to see everyone!
More on my trip to Scotland later. Be sure to check out the events calendar for upcoming events throughout North America!
