Here are some great events coming up this weekend. If you don’t see yours listed, be sure and let me know!
Celebrate the holiday season and the turning of the year in New Hampshire with members of the Catamount Pipe Band. Glorious carols, festive dance, and traditions that span the centuries and the globe await you. Recent performances have featured the stories, music and traditions of the Québécois, Ireland, Appalachia, and England. Brian O’Donovan’s A Celtic Sojourn continues in Boston this weekend and guarantees an amazing evening of entertainment. With legends of music, song, and dance from the Celtic world and beyond poised to take the stage together, this year’s show promises to be one of the most dynamic.
This weekend in NYC and NJ brings the 17th annual Pipes of Christmas concerts from Clan Currie. From the bold sounds of the bagpipes and the harmonious blending of brass, strings and percussion, to the poetic and lyrical words that complement them, the Pipes of Christmas is a festival for the soul.
Honorary Chairmen include Outlander composer, Bear McCreary and Celtic Life publisher, Marcie Macquarrie, a big supporter of Whisky and Tartan.
Concert highlights will also be screened with holiday performances scheduled to be televised via cable to 11 NJ towns on December 24th-26th, 2015 and streamed online. To find out more, please visit them on the web and Facebook. I'll be there covering the event, can't wait!
As always, have a fantastic weekend and enjoy the holiday season while it lasts!
