I can't believe we're at the end! I'm not sure if it seems like forever or just yesterday that this project took over my life.
Last, but certainly not least, December is a special month for the NAPB Calendar.
Mr. December is Alex Kuldell, a professional drummer for the United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, an active duty military band. He earned a coveted snare spot upon graduation from Falls Church High School in Virginia, where he currently resides.
The Old Guard is one of the top rudimental drumlines in the world and is part of the U.S. Army’s Official Escort to the President of the United States. They participate in various national and international events, averaging several hundred performances annually.
The 3d U.S. Infantry, traditionally known as "The Old Guard," is the oldest active-duty infantry unit in the Army, serving our nation since 1784. 3d Infantry soldiers are responsible for conducting military ceremonies at the White House, the Pentagon, national memorials and elsewhere in the nation's capital.
In addition, soldiers of The Old Guard maintain a 24-hour vigil at the Tomb of the Unknown, provide military funeral escorts at Arlington National Cemetery and participate in parades at Fort Myer and Fort Lesley J. McNair.
In addition to his service with The Old Guard, Alex is the drummer for the up and coming blues/soul band "Vintage #18” which plays all over the east coat, and for all of the seriousness surrounding him, he's a REALLY funny guy.
In addition to pipe bands, a portion of the proceeds for the month of December will go to Warrior 360.
Warrior 360 is a nonprofit organization that supports the needs and promotes the welfare of our nation's heroes and their families. They are specially equipped for rapid response to immediate needs that threaten the basic welfare of our nations heroes.
From medical needs to home repair, Warrior 360 is committed to care for those who've cared for us.
They are an all-volunteer military non-profit providing immediate no-red-tape assistance to returning service members and families of wounded veterans.
They also compete in Scottish Heavy Athletics at Highland Games around the country!
