She eventually jumped ship (pun intended) to follow her Submariner husband all over the globe while raising their wee ones. This led to stints with bands from around the world, including the Monterey Bay Pipe Band in California where she first learned to play.
As a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and former Naval Officer, military ceremonies and honors are her specialty.
After Hawaii, and while living in Shrivenham, England, she played a year with the Reading Scottish Pipe Band, which included headlining a Carnival in Nice, France.
Coreyanne is moving back to New England this fall and is looking to join the Rhode Island Highlanders (where I'm guessing Mary will be making her kilt!). The Rhode Island Highlanders Pipe Band was formed after World War II, in 1948, primarily by returning veterans who were dedicated to preserving and performing the traditional music of Scotland and Ireland.
Though raised in Texas, she claims Jamestown, Rhode Island, as a second home after spending many summers and holidays there with her extended family. This is where we shot her lovely photo for the NAPB Calendar.
