Have you noticed? Spring is finally in the air! With that, there are some new and exciting things on the horizon!
The benefit for Glasgow Girls Club and Nepal’s House with Heart was very successful! You can see photos on the W&T Facebook page. Thank you to everyone who supported this wonderful fundraiser for the Girls Club and those affected by the massive earthquake in Nepal. You can still visit both websites (linked above) to make a contribution.
May is Whisky Month, and 16 May is World Whisky Day! This could top Halloween as my favorite holiday – well… that might be pushing it a little far. There are whisky events, festivals and tastings all over the world, and hundreds alone in Scotland! Click HERE for World Whisky Day events.
I’ve also just added my first ad to the W&T website!
Mary’s Meanders is a wonderful little guided tour company out of Linlithgow, Scotland. They have Ghost Walks (personal fave!), Ancestral Tours, Mary Queen of Scots, Photography Tours, Historic Guided Tours and even a Taste of Outlander Evening for you zillions of Outlander fans! The Taste of Outlander tour, for example, includes traditional Scottish entertainment and a 3-course meal, which is served by the Star & Garter Hotel, but inspired by Outlander Kitchen. Each dish is served with an explanation as to its relevance to the series, and comes accompanied by a quote from the book. After dinner, there’s traditional Scottish music courtesy of local band Boorach, Highland dancing (including the famous sword dance), a wee bit of bagpiping and further readings from the series! Sounds like a fun night!
If you plan to visit Scotland this year, just check out Mary’s Meanders by clicking the ad to your left! ENTER THE CODE “WhiskyandTartan” and you’ll receive a FREE hot beverage at the Linlithgow Coffee Shop after your tour!
