    Let's Launch!

    March 24, 2015

Been torturing myself about the first entry to this blog, so I’ve decided to just do a short introduction to this space to get #1 out of the way.

Whisky and Tartan is an idea that I’ve had for a few years, and have finally decided that this would be a great time to launch.

As you’ll see through upcoming posts and website updates, Whisky and Tartan will house quite a lot of information.  The plan is to have the blog posts feature Scottish-owned businesses in the U.S., Canada and, of course, Scotland!  Pipe & Drum bands will also be featured, as well as travel, entertainment, photography and plenty of other items of interest to Scots and Scottish Diaspora.

Check out the events page that I hope will be the most comprehensive Scottish events page you’ll ever encounter.  You’ll find Highland Games listings, Scottish musicians & bands, parades, festivals, Highland Dancing competitions and showcases, Tattoos, and other sorts of entertainment throughout the U.S., Canada and Scotland!  Currently I’ve yet to find any website that even lists ALL of the Highland Games of America!

Another special part of the website will be the online shop “The Distillery”, which will include Celtic goods from, again, all three countries!  Looking to keep it close to home by featuring only vendors I currently have or build relationships with.  From jewelry, handmade kilts, tartan goods and goods directly from Scotland, I hope to make this a special store with interesting finds!

Thank you so much to everyone that has helped so far and will help with this venture in the future!
